From week 30, the Coal I Steam I Light I Lakes cycle route between Burgkemnitz and Friedersdorf will be closed due to construction work.
A good three kilometers of cycle path are being built between Burgkemnitz and the blue lake, including a connection to the old post road between Friedersdorf and Schlaitz.
The construction work should be completed by the end of the year.

The reason for this is to upgrade this important tourist cycle path in order to counteract dangerous situations due to the poor surface conditions. This gap closure should also connect residents from the heath villages quickly and directly with the industrial area and the town of Bitterfeld-Wolfen.

Visitors on this section of cycle path are asked to follow the signposted detour. (see attached map)
