Stage from Wittenberg to Gräfenhainichen
From the listed Piesteritzer Werkssiedlung, built as a former housing estate for the employees of the Piesteritzer nitrogen plant in 1916, past the mining lakes in the Dübener Heide Nature Park, this stage leads to the FERROPOLIS open-air museum and event venue.
The bike route starts in the Piesteritz factory estate. From there, the route takes you through the old town of Wittenberg with its UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Passing the beautiful Bergwitzsee lake, you will ride to Gräfenhainichen. There, in addition to the historic old town with building locksmith's shop on a peninsula in Lake Gremmin, the multifaceted city of iron - Ferropolis - awaits you.
