Forest house at the Bergwitzsee
A heath magnet for all friends of nature with an interactive exhibition and a movement and education area for young and old.
Within walking distance of the Bergwitzsee, directly on the bike path, you will find the Waldhaus am Bergwitzsee. Here you will receive valuable suggestions and information about the Dübener Heide Nature Park and the Elbaue. Nature with water, forest and all its creatures, but also the people of the region are the focus of the exhibition and experience area. Visitors get into a boat in the "Water" theme area, fish for a few fish and find out how Lake Bergwitz was formed. Because here, where the Bergwitzsee is today, was once the brown coal open pit mine "Roberts Hoffnung".
The information center houses in the educational area an interactive exhibition and a Bwegungszentrum. In the outdoor area of the site, the beaver play castle, a 7-senses tree house, a climbing and balancing forest and an action playground invite visitors to explore.
