Tour tip: Round tour around Lake Störmthal
On this tour you will cycle once around the winding Störmthaler See. The starting point of the round trip is at Markkleeberg-Gaschwitz station. With the S-Bahn lines S3, S5 and S6 can be traveled from Leipzig quite relaxed.
Tour
At the beginning you roll east and cross the Pleiße. Further it goes through a young forest to the Störmthaler channel, which you cross. Shortly thereafter you reach the eastern shore of Lake Störmthal.
Here you cycle always near the shore towards the south. You enjoy from the bike path and from vantage points again and again magnificent views of the water. Also beautiful beaches invite on the way to comfortable breaks.
In the south of the lake you follow the winding shore over the Magdeborner peninsula, where you will find great places to stop and swim. Continue around the southern tip and along the western shore. Here you can once again take in the spectacular views over the lake before returning from the northern tip back to the starting point in Gaschwitz.
The Leipzig Neuseenland can be explored easily and super flexibly with the node system. Here, green numbers are enthroned on signposts at many intersections. These junctions serve as an orientation aid. To drive a route of choice, you plan it before you start cycling based on the nodes, which are then driven off in the planned order.
The nodes in this tour: 01, 02, 05, 19, 82, 87, 77, 90, 76, 84, 05, 02, 01.
