The asphalted circular path around the open-cast lake makes it attractive for hikers, bicycle tourists and inline skaters. Sailing, surfing, diving and climbing are popular in the summer season.
A popular destination at the lake is the resident canoe park Markkleeberg. The neighboring Störmthaler See can be reached by bike.Quite comfortably explore the Markkleeberger See with the passenger ship.
